The Weekly Roundup #2: New Beginnings

This week has seen the start of what I'm sure will be an exciting adventure. On Tuesday, I decided to bite the bullet and buy my own domain. I am now the proud owner of, how freaking exciting is that? I can't actually take any credit for the technical bits and bobs, kudos to my good pal Mitch for essentially doing most of the important stuff. I'm super excited to see my little blog develop and to be receiving such lovely feedback. Admittedly, I've been a little bit of an awful blogger (my previous post explains a little) and I'm still not totally back in the bloggisphere but I will be writing posts in bulk so I can post more often even when I'm super busy!

One of the reasons that I've been absent from blogging lately, is a new beginning it itself. I've been learning to say yes more. Right from the beginning of Summer when all of the girls were home from uni, I knew that seeing them go back would be difficult, me going back to the reality that is work and only seeing the girls via FaceTime/Skype wherever possible. So, I decided that instead of moping around until they come home, I'm saying yes to a lot more. As a result of this, I'm currently sat in my PJ's having yet another Big Bang Theory marathon, recovering from an awfully wonderful yet busy week of socialising. Admittedly, I used to be a bit of an awkward hermit, meeting new people and going to new places was something I strayed from and as a result, I spent a lot of time at home reading books and barely ever surfacing to socialise, but this week has been a whole new story... bowling, dinners out, movie nights, partying and spontaneous trips to my favourite pub. Naturally, there's still a few times that I've swapped socialising for my bed and box sets, but I'll get there one day. Let's hope my new ornate lifestyle continues.

Alongside saying "yes" to socialising, I've also decided to get back into my old fitness routine, running, swimming and the occasional kick around at Staff Sport. Over the summer, it's fair to say, I've been slacking quite a lot, but you know it's gone too far when your Grandad uses "dumpy" to describe your appearance, delightful isn't it? To me, exercise is wasted if you're still spending most of your time at the drive through, so I've been trying to cook a lot more. Especially seeing as the rents have just jetted off to Spain, I'll be spending a lot more time in the kitchen this week.
